Deputy Chief Christopher Mannino
DEPUTY CHIEF CHRISTOPHER MANNINO
In his 21st year of law enforcement, Christopher Mannino currently serve as Deputy Chief of Field Operations of the Park Forest Police Department in suburban Chicago. He has served in a wide variety of law enforcement roles throughout his career, including assignments in the patrol division, investigations division (including as an investigator of a Major Crimes Task Force), administration division, special operations, as the Field Training Coordinator, and as a team leader with a Mobile Field Force.
Christopher holds Master’s Degree in Political and Justice Studies and is a graduate of the 237th session of the FBI National Academy, where his studies concentrated on media relations and promoting the law enforcement image. He implemented and manages his law enforcement agency’s social media accounts, and has created social media content which has garnered national attention, as well as significant positive news coverage by the Chicago media market. He also manages the International Police Association- US Section’s Facebook page on a volunteer basis. Christopher is an adjunct instructor for several Mobile Training Units, teaching a self-developed curriculum on implementing and managing social media for law enforcement agencies.
While recognizing the challenges social media can present, Christopher believes strongly in utilizing this ever-evolving tool to create and foster rapport with the community, building trust in local law enforcement in an effort to better carry out the law enforcement mission.
