Sgt. Michael Oteri

Sgt. Michael Oteri has over 18 years of experience in the criminal justice field and currently a full-time high liability trainer and use of force analyst for a Central Florida agency. Michael is anagency administrator for the longest running law enforcement body camera program on the east coast of the United States. He has been invited to speak at technology summits at Florida law enforcement agencies and provides consultation on body camera programs. Michael also delivers outside training and consultation for a number of law enforcement agencies.

Michael has been assigned to a variety of operational assignments and has over 18 years of
experience in Patrol, K-9, SWAT, Dignitary Protection, and Training. While assigned to the
Training Section, he has become a firearms instructor, defensive tactics instructor, and a
certified use of force analyst. He has attended over 3,000 hours of training during his tenure.
He currently reviews use of force reports, video evidence, and reviews policy and training
aspects.

Michael is a graduate of the Daytona State College where he earned a Bachelor of Applied
Science Degree in Supervision and Management. He is currently enrolled at Liberty University
pursuing a Master’s of Science in Criminal Justice.
